mindless

People want to simplify things. Polarize them.
Why is it so hard for people to agree on common decency? Why does everyone have to “identify” as something?

Pro-gun, pro-choice, so on. Everyone wants a label instead of a discussion. One of the reasons we haven’t been getting real change since Uvalde is that maybe, no one wants to think about it. Piles of dead children. Kids screaming for help. Motionless policemen.

We want the farthest thing from thought possible. We want mindlessness. We want labels.

And most of all, we don’t ever,
ever,
ever

admit we’re wrong.
